The Airports I Have Seen (and other minutia)

Well, I'm now in my 28th hour without sleep (OK, you got me. I cat napped on the plane to Fukuoka, about 20 minutes total), and still going strong.

The flight out of TO was delayed by some dumbasses who didn't make the flight. Rather than pull their luggage, the plane crew decided to wait...for an hour... Despite that, the flight itself was not bad.

Vancouver Airport. Quaint...and kinda backwards :P

They call Coach class Hospitality class now. Really, it's a way of diverting attention away from the fois gras like conditions (throw 'em in a box, feed 'em until they explode) by use of some "clever" verbal play. Fortunately, you can see how I wiled away the time.

10.5 hours is a lot of time, but I was treated to the sublime Kansai Airport, a marvel of modern architecture.

And last, but not least, Fukuoka International, an airport that closes at...9PM? WTF?? Still, a nice view of the wonderful, brightly lit street that first greets travellers to this fair city.

More soon, when I next get to a computer.

Osaka

Its 6:36 pm local time and we’ve just spent about a 1/2 hour wandering Kansai International. As best as I can figure, it’s 4:36 am in T-dot.

...

I am very tired.

I’ll try to post what few pics I have when I can.

Still 2 hours until my next and final flight, and 4 hours until I can reasonably expect to get some shut eye.

On a final note, if you guys have any (reasonable) requests for stuff from the land of the rising sun, email me at my gmail account, or post a comment here.

Signing off for now...

(A very sleep deprived) Mike

Intinerary...or Purgatory?

Here's the itinerary, at least for getting to Japan:

AC5 YYZ > YVR 0900 - 1105 (06FEB05)
AC35 YVR > KIX 1240 - 1640 (07FEB05)
NH1706 KIX > FUK 2040 - 2150

All times adjusted to local.

So what the hell does all this mean, and more importantly, when will I get to Japan in sane-world time (i.e. Toronto)?

Leave Toronto at 9:00am local, reach Vancouver at 11:05am local (2:05pm Toronto).
Leave Vancouver at 12:40pm local (3:35pm TO), reach Osaka at 4:40pm local (2:40am TO).
Leave Osaka at 8:40pm local (6:40am TO), reach Fukuoka at 9:50pm local (7:50am TO).

So, assuming everything goes off on schedule, from the time I leave my house (7:00am) to the time I arrive at my aunt's apartment (10:30pm local, or 8:30am Toronto time), I'll have been in transit for 25.5 hours...

Thank god I'll have a book to read...

Picture test

An innocent test picture?

Or a commentary on my blog? YOU DECIDE! @_@

A strange experiment?

I'm not sure what my internet access will be, but I'll try to get this updated as often as possible.
